We were big fans of Intermeida until the pricing went extremely high and support and uptime fell though the floor. We just recovered from no inbound email service for 4 days. It took 2 days before the Russiun support team to acknolege a problem and then 2 days to think about it. The previous outage we were down for 3 days and they had to restore from tape (So much for EMC relablity) Pricing for sharepoint is over $400 per month and so slow you can watch paint dry. We are looking for a new providor and hopefully get off this mess asap.

Our previous Exchange Provider was terrible. They were constantly down, tech support was a joke, and it was impossible to get ahold of anyone. Intermedia has been great with helping us get started and we have not had any issues thus far.

They were awesome from the time we started with them in 2003 till this summer. Nothing but downed servers and bounced email since then. Tech support went from stellar to horrible. I think they grew too fast, and their outsourcing tech support to Russia does nothing to improve the experience

So far, so good… I was looking for a simple, fast and affordable solution to host my email - my last provider was a friend’s service and my email was down for 4 months! And I could not get them to fix it fast enough (you get what you pay for when it’s free I guess). Anyhow, I read these and other posting and was about to stay away from InterMedia. But when I thought about it a little more, it's only $16 and change for their 3 email package (more than enough for my needs) and figured I can afford risking $16 to 'test' them out. Well, so far so good. I have 6 other domain email addresses forwarding my InterMedia account and I test email every day (from various outside sources) and have not missed one email to date. Also, the setup was easy and fast. Within 20 minutes of signing up, I had my mail.mydomain.com webmail URL, I configured my outlook to POP my email, and it all worked! Listen folks, email is perhaps the easiest of services to provide these days - it's not rocket science. InterMedia has been around for many years and I would have to think, they can manage email hosting. My suggestion, try them out, if you don't like them, go ahead and purchase the more expensive services out there and by done with it. We'll see how I feel down the line, but for now, I'd recommend it. -Jason P.S. I have 10+ years IT experience so perhaps understanding email and being technical helped my experience?

Intermedia claims their mailman service doesn't affect my mail getting delivered. I haven't seen a new email in about a week. It took me 2 days to get ahold of someone in tech support by phone, and still no response to multiple emails sent... glad I found this site... the competition is looking good these days.

We can't send anyone using Intermedia any email. We get failure: 421 4.7.0 exmfd001-1.intermedia.net Error: too many errors on every email we send to them. We get no errors from anyoen else. They hide tech support contacts and just seem to be rather poor in supporting their own customers let alone outside persons.

went to transfer from old mail provider to a intermedia's small business exchange account. The creation of the accounts was really easy until I determined that they didn't set up f'ing MX records in my DNS entry... so all my mail bounced for 24 hours straight! Then to add insult to injury, all my tickets were completely ignored that were opened in the their support portal. Then the cherry on top was that the only way to get someone on the phone is to pay for premium enterprise support which was an extra $150. I was really screwed, so I paid the money to get a guy on the phone to verify that they screwed up. TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE IN THE FIRST 24 HOURS. 100% of my mail (including client mail) is being bounced right now.

Intermedia.Net is probably the worst company I have ever dealt with. They have no morals and lie about everything. For example, before I signed up, I asked them if their tech support was all in the US. The sales guy said yes. Only after I migrated our 37 users to their systems did I realize that their tech support is in St. Petersburg, RUSSIA! That explains why their support is so bad and practically useless. Add this to their lack of ability to keep their Exchange servers up and running, and you realize that they will probably go out of business soon if they can't provide a good service. Over the last month that we've been with them, they've had some sort of issue just about every day. For some days, their OWA was just completely down. Other days, our Outlooks (in three offices across the country) kept disconnecting simultaneously and they first told us that it was our issue. Finally, they admitted that they were having diffcilties, but only after we kept reporting the issue for 4 days stratight! And I've had dozens of our customers' emails to me keep bouncing because Intermedia can't keep their systems up and running. Stay away from Intermedia. I bet they're about to go out of business with service like this.

While their actual Exchange hosting service has been getting much better (less downtime and fewer slowdowns) their admin tool is a horrible slow POS and their tech support has a customer is always wrong attitude. Stay away from this company if you can.

Not one to write reviews much but hopefully help someone making same mistake - this company is terrible. Email (20 mailboxes) down for 2 days at one point, but almost constant issues otherwise. Tel tech support means waiting for approx 20-30 minutes whilst being told you're first in the queue (each time I called I was 1st call in queue! despite having to wait up to an hour). Their status page is edited daily to remove the raft of issues (some of which never make the status page anyway). Agree with other poster - worst company I've ever dealt with in about 10 years.

This may be one of the worst companies I have ever dealt with in 20+ years of business. They daily issues with email, exchange servers, blackberry usage, etc. You call their support line and it actually tells you that they are having "blah blah blah" trouble and hangs up on you. What?! If you are able to actually hold on and wait for over 20 min. avg, then you get a technician who does not know what they are talking about and they have to "escalate" to a level 2 tech who is supposed to call you back and NEVER does. The funniest part is they promise "O downtime" HAH! What a crock! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY UNLESS YOU WANT DAILY HEADACHES!!!!!

I don't understand how they are in business. Their service has issues almost daily, their support team is not good (especially their Russian team at night), and they don't really care about customer satisfaction. Their sales team kept telling me how they're the "global leader", I should have known better to go with them when they could never tell me which analyst or 3rd party thinks they're the global leader. Horrible experience - we lost businesss because they kept losing inbound emails.

Set up a client to do shared exchange hosting. Within the first two weeks we've experienced periodic outages, not able to connect to the exchange server, etc. This is email for a business...their 99.9% uptime guarantee seems to be meaningless when we've been down for hours at a time in the first two weeks of service. Last night they moved mailboxes to try and resolve ongoing problems with Exchange 2007...we're unable to send/receive mail, and people sending to us aren't even getting bounce messages...they are working w/Microsoft to resolve the problems w Exchange 2007...but you know what...we don't have time to troubleshoot Microsoft's broken SW, or wait for intermedia's email to be functional again...we're leaving! Oh, we're still under the 30 days try us for free...we'll see how the refund goes too...

They seem to have pulled a bait and switch on us. They advertised $9.95 per month for one mail box. When we got our first bill, it was $35.85 and they now say the cost is 11.95 per box and minimum 3 boxes. We're very disapointed as it took a lot of time to set this up.

Absolutely UNHAPPY and would NEVER DO AGAIN! We purchased a hosted solution with them for exchange, but they put us on 2007 exchange not 2003. That was the first mistake. Found out from competitors they are the ONLY ONE ON THE MARKET supporting exchange 2007 and there's a reason, they aren't ready! Intermedia.net is NOT prepared for the work involved in getting 2007 exchange to be smooth and workable. Was not pleasant as an administrator to find that the console for control was laggy, unresponsive and un-usable. Contacted their tech. support and they agreed I had an issue but told me my resolution wouldn't come for another 2 weeks at best after they patch or add new servers to the node. Uh, but they don't do refunds? Don't give service credit for lack of useable uptime? So I called to cancel, no problem, they LOVED to do that. However when you cancel you DON'T GET A REFUND, even if you were recently charged for your monthly service. I had to call up, ask for a supervisor, give my previous case numbers to be enough 'reasoning' for them to consider crediting me. Hassle from start to finish, and left such a bad taste in my mouth I'll never refer them in a positive manner to ANYONE!

Intermedia was best deal we found, considering the amount of space they provide, plus the pricing of their add-ons. Their support has been great, thus far.

We needed to cancel the service with them due to a technical issue. The surprise came when they asked us to send them our credit card number (not just last 4 digits) by email in order to close the account. Not sure what is going on there, but I do not think we will be using them again.
